Pula is one of the largest cities on the Istrian peninsula of Croatia. I was pleasantly surprised by the fast amount of Roman ruins and landmarks that I found during my stroll through the city. Pula has been known for its shipping industry and served as a Roman military outpost. The Roman arena has been preserved through the centuries and spectacular find in the heart of the city.
Rovinj is a picturesque town in the North of Croatia on the Istrian peninsula. Rovinj made quite an impression on me with its beautiful colorful old town and the huge stone tower looming over the city from a top the hill. It reminds me strongly of Venice but with a flavor of its own. I had the best time walking round this ancient port city and would recommend it for anyone traveling to Croatia.

A visit to the medieval city, Vrbnik, was the highlight of my visit. Perched on a 48m cliff and overlooking the Adriatic ocean, it’s a lovely sight to see.
I recently enjoyed a trip to the northern part of the Croatian coast. I went on a boat cruise to see some of the northern islands of Croatia, a bit off the normal tourist path. Our trip started in the harbor of Opatija, a resort town of old in the Gulf of Kvarner. Traveling in the beginning of spring provided me with beautiful fresh green nature and blooms with gloomy spring showers setting the tone.
